Back then, at the start of each new year, I would write down how I envisioned my future self.
Not only did I consider general stuff like income and life after college, but I also included minute details such as how I wanted to dress, act, and be known for. Painting an image of my ‘ideal future self’ helped inspire me to reach that self-image or goal.
I know a lot of people roll their eyes when they hear “New Year’s Resolutions” followed by a “New year, new me,” but introspection and goal-setting is the first step to building the person you would like to grow into.
Both Molly and I thought about how we envisioned our future-selves. We not only decided to set individual goals, but goals to work towards as a couple (since we’re engaged and all that jazz).
